Construction Walls Now up at DinoLand U.S.A. for Tropical Americas Expansion

Hi everyone!

Construction walls have gone up at DinoLand U.S.A., closing Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama at Disney’s Animal Kingdom (including TriceraTop Spin). The Boneyard is still open, as is DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus and the character meet and greets. It has been over 3 years since Primeval Whirl has been dismantled, which is hard to believe.

Here are video and photos from today of the Dinoland U.S.A construction walls.

Welcome to DinoLand U.S.A. (or about half of it).

The holidays are still in effect today, and the entrance to Dinoland U.S.A. and Donald’s Dino-Bash looks the same as usual up until this point.

Construction walls can be seen beyond The Boneyard here.

We rode TriceraTop Spin the other day, and are posting photos and videos of the land from our last visit (including walk-throughs) that I will have in another article.

Strollers now line the shrubbery that has been set up in this area near the Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama sign.

There are a couple of signs on the walls, this one says Squirrel! with Dug on it from Pixar’s “Up”.

And this says “Change is Good” with Rafiki from “The Lion King”.

The dinosaur can still be seen towering above. Some friends and I were talking about whether the dino has a name, and I have never known it to have one (unlike Dinosaur Gertie) – but it has loads of personality.

The side of the dinosaur says “Chester & Hester’s Dino-Rama” and “Donald’s Dino-Bash”.

Literally, all the rides here are Rides of Extinction.

Donald Duck is still meeting at his location in the Welcome Center.

Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures has also closed forever. The abundance of dinosaur themed props inside was unparalleled.

Here is a longer look toward that area.

The whole land will eventually be rethemed and will include an Indiana Jones experience, a carousel with carved Disney animals, and the first-ever “Encanto” themed ride-through attraction.

We don’t know when DINOSAUR and the rest of Dinoland U.S.A. will close.

We will be back soon to Disney’s Animal Kingdom park soon as construction begins.
