Video: New ‘Disney Tales of Magic’ Nighttime Spectacular at Disneyland Paris
Hi everyone!
The new ‘Disney Tales of Magic‘ nighttime spectacular has debuted at Disneyland Paris, lighting up the night sky with pyro, drones, and lasers – and of course, magic. The music is gorgeous as well, including the song ‘Live in Magic’, written by Noémie Legrand.
‘Disney Tales of Magic‘ features sequences that include “Beauty and the Beast” (animated), “Toy Story”, “Encanto” and “The Lion King”. All of the animation on Sleeping Beauty Castle were created especially for the show. Tim Allen (the original voice of Buzz Lightyear) even recorded new dialogue! The narration and music are in French and English, and a little bit of Spanish as well. There is narration that reminds me of Luminous: The Symphony of Us in EPCOT (which is likely the weakest part of that show, but isn’t used as much here).
Here is our ‘Disney Tales of Magic’ video, followed by some stills I captured. Thank you to Rony from DLPlicious for covering the media event for us, taking such wonderful 4K video.
The beginning of the show features Pinocchio (as well as Gepetto), and the Blue Fairy.
Creative director Tim Lutkin said about the Blue Fairy, In the prologue, she performs a beautiful movement with her wand, which she sends to the top of the Castle. Then the Fairy Godmother catches the wand before turning back to the audience.
There is a beautiful “Mulan” segment that then becomes a combination of “Mulan” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. The fountains are stunning in the show – more than ever.
Quasimodo makes his appearance on the castle.
It is nice to see both Lilo and Stitch (Lilo is not used much with Stitch anymore).
Buzz Lightyear headlines the “Toy Story” segment.
Emperor Zurg is in drones.
A Toy Story Alien flies past Sleeping Beauty Castle in drones.
The “Beauty and the Beast” segment includes a rose in drones. Projected rose petals fall down the castle.
So far, the segment I’ve heard the most raves about is “The Lion King”.
Arches in drones can be seen over Sleeping Beauty Castle.
I love the green during the “Encanto” segment, it looks stunning on the castle and lit through the fountains.
What do you think of “Disney Tales of Magic”?
Disneyland Paris always pushes the envelope on Disney entertainment, including with their nighttime shows. I can’t wait to see “Disney Tales of Magic” in person in a few months.
