Disney Springs Wellness Month Kicks Into High Gear with Fun for the Whole Family

Hi everyone!

Disney Springs Wellness Month presented by AdventHealth has kicked off with activities that range from a Cirque du Soleil Fitness Class to Family Zumba classes. We were invited by Disney yesterday to check out just some of what is on offer. While many activities have reached their participation limits, classes like the ones I mentioned can still be observed.

What I like about Disney Springs Wellness Month is how guests can enjoy the experiences together. It brings a real energy to Disney Springs.

We first stopped at L’Occitane en Provence in Town Center, where guests can receive complimentary facials (MAC Cosmetics offers facials as well). Self-care is part of the Disney Springs program. We watched the process as two guests received facials.

These are 15-minute treatments that are offered daily on a first-come, first-served basis with no sign up needed, but you can also reserve a spot at DisneySprings.com/Wellness.

The Family Zumba classes are held on Saturday mornings in January. The live band was great! One of the musicians came out to work the crowd during the event.

The “Find Your Balance” itinerary includes a fitness class with lululemon, and 10% off lunch at Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’. We were treated to lunch at the restaurant yesterday. The menu features Chef Art’s signature fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and other comfort food. While we had the opportunity to indulge in the decadent Southern-style brunch (which runs every Saturday and Sunday from 9:30 AM to 1:00 PM), I went with my favorite item – the Chargrilled Chicken. There are two generously sized chicken breasts with sliced avocado, roasted potatoes and vegetables, as well as broccoli with bacon (I substituted mashed potatoes).

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is very popular, and I do recommend reservations. I did have a few bites as well of the wonderful Hummingbird Cake, which is a pineapple-banana cake featuring delicious cream cheese frosting. That is my favorite dessert on the menu.

Cirque du Soleil Fitness Class at Disney Springs

Our last stop was the Cirque du Soleil Fitness Class, with performers from the amazing Disney Springs show “Drawn to Life“, which is the only Cirque du Soleil show that is in partnership with Disney. “Drawn to Life” replaced the long-running “La Nouba” a few years ago and I enjoy both equally. The performers are outstanding! And for this class, there were about 6 different performers. Instruction was for both beginners and more advanced, depending on which performer you were watching and taking cues from.

To be able to take a fitness class from Cirque du Soleil performers is really a special opportunity.

Find tickets for “Drawn to Life” on the Cirque du Soleil website.

Thank you to Disney and Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ for providing lunch during our experience yesterday.
