8-Foot Gingerbread Spaceship Earth Debuts at EPCOT with Light Show (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

An 8-foot tall gingerbread Spaceship Earth has debuted for EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays – complete with a 3-minute light show! We have photos and video to share of this CommuniCore Hall experience.

First, here is our video.

As the Citizen countdown clock hit 10, guests started counting down the seconds.

The information says the gingerbread Spaceship Earth celebrates with the light show every half hour, but it seemed to be more often while we were inside CommuniCore Hall.

Here is a closer look at the gingerbread sphere.

There is a hidden Mickey visible in this photo (very small!)

Guests can find out more about this gingerbread creation and Celebration Countdown on the wall.

There are 11 hidden Mickeys, and the “Engingerneering” of Spaceship Earth includes 100 eggs, 100 pounds of royal icing, 240 pounds of dough, and one gingerdesic sphere! It took 160 hours to create the gingerbread version of Spaceship Earth.

The sphere is made of 1300 gingerbread triangles.

What do you think of the gingerbread Spaceship Earth?

EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays runs through December 30th, 2024.
