Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic Preview 2024
Hi everyone!
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic is coming soon, to be held on November 15th and 16th, 2024. The 15th year of the festival is under a week away now, and is our favorite foodie event to attend. Guests pay one price and then have unlimited sampling for four hours, 5:30-9:30 p.m. These are the longest hours in the history of the Food & Wine Classic! Tickets are available.
The 2024 Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic will feature 45 dishes, the most in the event’s history. This is in addition to more than 170 beverage offerings. We recommend attending both nights if possible to have a chance to sample a wide range of items. The Shula’s booth is always a favorite of ours. And you can purchase a hotel package, which is a great idea if you plan to indulge in a range of alcoholic choices.
We had the opportunity to preview some items coming to the festival, and have that to share with you.
Our preview looked like a small version of the festival, with a number of booths set up like they will be for the event. The causeway and pathways around the Swan and Dolphin hotels will be teeming with booths!
Greg Sherman is a new Food & Beverage Director at the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin. He talked about how the menu is very different between the two nights (another reason to do two nights).
Chefs from the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort readied items for the preview.
We started off with a sparkling wine in a Walt Disney World Food & Wine Classic souvenir cup. There are so many wines, beers and more to try when at the event.
New for this year, the Smoked Hand-Crafted Bacon with artisanal bread purée, carrot purée, braised greens, shaved vinegared heirloom apple at the Smokin’ D’s BBQ specialty booth seemed more like pork belly (it isn’t traditional bacon), and practically melted on the tongue.
This is a look at the sample on my plate.
Also new is the imported Italian ricotta cheese filled agnolotti with roasted broccoli rabe, crispy garlic, Calabrian chili, Romano cheese, lemon scented olive oil (vegetarian) from the Il Mulino booth. We thought this was quite nice as well.
We stopped at the Beer Garden tent for the Potato Dumpling with smoked onion dip, crispy bacon (vegetarian upon request). I thought it was okay, but there are better options for me at the event.
Here is a look at the potato dumplings.
The Vegetable Galette Slider is griddled with hand-formed zucchini and carrot “cake”, secret sauce,
sweet onion-mustard relish, tomato “jelly”, locally sourced brioche bun (vegetarian). This is from Picabu, and is a a fan favorite throwback from 2011.
This slider sounded like something I would never eat, but it is delicious! This seemed to be the big hit of everyone we spoke with a the event.
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic always has a fantastic dessert selection.
This year, it includes the Chocolate Blackberry Choux Puff, but many more as well. You can’t go wrong with any choice.
We always recommend the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic!
