Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House 2024 – Video Tour and Over 30 Photos
Hi everyone!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House has returned for the 2024 season, celebrating 25 years of this iconic holiday tradition. We have photos and video to share! There are so many fun details around the house, including character windows and trees. The hours for Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House are 9:30 a.m. through 9:00 p.m. daily. We’ve been posting about the gingerbread house since 2010, and this year Pastry Chef Ally Rogers takes over the reigns.
I’ll post the treats for sale in a separate article and will link it here when complete.
First, here is our video of the Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Gingerbread House for 2024.
Disney says about the house:
As you explore the various details of this incredible display, you’ll find white chocolate candy canes, edible snowflakes, sugar poinsettias, and an 88-pound white chocolate Santa. The gingerbread itself is baked with 1050 pounds of honey, 800 pounds of flour, and 600 pounds of confectioners’ sugar.
The decorations feature 700 pounds of chocolate and feature over 10,000 pieces of gingerbread – yes, you heard that right. The team spend over 500 hours baking the gingerbread and 480 hours bringing all the dazzling details to life. To celebrate the 25 years of holiday tradition, there are 25 hidden Mickeys scattered throughout.
A sign outside the house features the menu.
One of our holiday traditions is to purchase a gingerbread shingle, which we did at the window. There are also shirts and other items for sale this year to commemorate the 25th anniversary. The sign says “Established 1999” and is in silver, denoting the anniversary milestone.
Mickey and Minnie icons in gingerbread are also seen around the house.
There is a menu also at the gingerbread house window, and also glass cases that showcase the items with prices outside of it (by the house and also near the monorail entrance).
One of the items is a Gingerbread House for $94.99. It features Mickey!
The back of the gingerbread house says “Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa” and a “25” for the anniversary of the gingerbread house, not the resort. There are fun candy pieces to add around the house as well.
The 88-pound white chocolate Santa can be seen here, in his usual spot. The remainder of the gingerbread house decorations are very different than previous years, when there was a village and toy soldiers. Now, there are Disney character-inspired trees for guests to spot.
Here is a close-up on the Santa Claus.
We received a sticker that says they are celebrating 25 years of gingerbread.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House was built over a number of days, starting just before Halloween.
The Disney character windows this year feature the artwork we see for the 2024 season around the parks and resorts (in merchandise and artwork displays). This is the first year I remember that happening.
Chip and Dale are dressed in their holiday best, holding onto a candy cane.
Minnie Mouse and Goofy put touches on holiday ornaments and toys.
Donald and Daisy wear their holiday best in front of a Fantasyland castle, with Donald holding a bag of gifts.
Mickey and Minnie decorate the Christmas tree.
Stitch holds artwork that says “I’ve been good”. Again, this is all official artwork that you’ll see around the resort (and Disneyland Resort).
The character-inspired trees include Rapunzel, with her braid wrapped around the tree.
This tree is inspired by one of the Dalmatians from One Hundred and One Dalmatians.
Make it pink or blue? Princess Aurora and Snow White trees stand near each other.
The Winnie the Pooh gang includes Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet and also Tigger (who is harder to see).
Pluto, Mickey, Goofy, Minnie, Donald and Daisy stand together.
There is a chocolate tree with ornaments.
Chip and Dale as Rescue Rangers stand on top of the gingerbread shingles. The year for the house – 1999 – makes up the house number. And you can see one of the hidden Mickeys, as well as other holiday items like a tree and snowman.
Here is a closer look.
Here are more photos of the house from various angles.
A display on the front of Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House tells the story of the house.
From up above, you can see that the chimney additions have changed this year.
A 25th Anniversary cake is next to a gingerbread stove, with red and green gingerbread Mickey cookies. The numbers on the stove – where the clock would be – say 2024.
A chocolate piece with a sleigh and reindeer are on top of the house.
Do you plan to stop by Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House this season?
Parking at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is limited to guests at the resort. We walked yesterday from the Magic Kingdom, but you can also take a monorail or a boat from there (or a monorail from the TTC).
