Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House 2024 Construction Photos (With Nods to 25th Anniversary)
Hi everyone!
Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is being constructed for the 2024 holiday season at Walt Disney World! Nods to its 25th anniversary have already been added (and I am sure there will be more to come!) We first posted about Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House in 2008 for its 10th anniversary and each year since – including for its 15th anniversary. I can’t believe it’s now celebrating 25.
Here are photos from yesterday. We will have more after a Friday visit, and then when it opens.
The pastry team was adding shingles onto the house when I stopped by in the early afternoon.
For the 25th anniversary, there were already a couple of nods placed.
The first one will be seen in the chimney.
Usually there are gifts placed with notable Grand Floridian names. This year, Pastry Chef Ally Rogers is taking the reigns on the gingerbread house and is changing it up a bit (as Pastry Chef Kristine Farmer did when taking it over from Master Pastry Chef Erich Herbitschek, who originated the gingerbread house in 1999).
In the chimney, you can see a 25th anniversary cake!
There is a gingerbread stove and oven with Mickeys on the handles. And the timer says 2024.
Below, there is a 1999 at a door, looking like the number to the house – but a nod to the opening year.
Here is another angle of the house.
Cast Members add shingles.
Minnie Mouse pieces were being readied, and it appears also Mickey pieces (to the right). There will be other decor as well.
It won’t be long until Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort’s Gingerbread House opens for the 2024 season! Guests will be able to purchase fun treats – I am hoping there will still be stollen bread, and we always pick up a shingle with chocolate.
This is the earliest we’ve seen the gingerbread house being readied for opening! Disney’s Grand Floridian Gingerbread House is one of our favorite traditions at Walt Disney World.
