Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris to Close for Refurbishment January 6th, 2025

Big Thunder Mountain at Disneyland Paris will close for refurbishment on January 6th, 2025. There are rumors it could be a multi-month closure, but the refurbishment schedule isn’t far out enough to give us an idea. The attraction seems to be down for refurb more than most. The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction is also closing at Walt Disney World for at least a year.

The Thunder Mesa Riverboat Landing is now posted as a closure starting at that time as well. You can find closures into January as of this writing at the Disneyland Paris website.

We rode Big Thunder Mountain a few times during our September/October trip, but it was raining a lot (and we don’t tend to ride in rain). The leaves were changing on some of the trees beautifully, so we enjoyed that from the Molly Brown with a Big Thunder Mountain view.

Will you be making any changes to your Disneyland Paris trip because of Big Thunder Mountain being closed? We were at Disneyland Paris this past January and had a wonderful trip (and even rode Big Thunder with beautiful snow all around).
