- Opening in 1969, guests dearly depart into a foreboding estate, discovering the resident 999 happy haunts. As part of their terror-filled tour, guests glide through the mysterious incantations of Madame Leota. Serving as the messenger between regions beyond and the mortal world, Leota is always one for calling in the spirits… wherever they’re at. Making her debut apparitional appearance with the attraction in 1969, Disney Legend Leota Toombs Thomas gave life to the ”belle of the (crystal) ball” when she posed for the face and voice of Madame Leota during the development of the attraction.
