Disney Springs Flavors of Florida 2024 Preview From Media Event

Hi everyone!

Disney Springs Flavors of Florida (presented by Corkcicle) at Walt Disney World kicks off on July 1st (tomorrow). There will be more than 80 specialty food and beverage items at over 40 locations to try through August 11th, 2024. We were invited to a media event to sample just a small taste of what is to come.

Disney Springs Flavors of Florida guide 2024

This is the fourth year for Disney Springs Flavors of Florida, which focuses heavily on citrus flavors like orange, lemon and lime as well as fruits like strawberries and watermelon. For example, Gideon’s Bakehouse will have Key Lime Pie Cake Bars (and Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew is offering a Strawberry Shortcake Donut that is calling my name).

Disney Springs is well known for its amazing dining. It is always hard to choose a restaurant to visit because the list of fantastic choices seems endless. The Boathouse. Morimoto Asia. Jaleo by José Andrés. The new restaurants Summerhouse on the Lake and eet by Maneet Chauhan – and more! On top of those everyday choices, there will be additional unique food and beverage options with Flavors of Florida.

Sunshine Stroll beer - exclusive to Disney Springs

New this year is a Disney Springs exclusive beer called Sunshine Stroll. It will be available at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar as well as outdoor vending carts (it comes in cans and draught beer). We were told that it will also be available after Flavors of Florida ends. Jeff enjoyed the taste and that it is a lighter beer for summer. We also tried two dishes that were prepared with Sunshine Stroll: an Orange Pilsner Goat Cheese Dip from Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar and St. Augustine Datil Pepper Frites from The Daily Poutine. Both are nice choices.

Our second stop was at Art Smith’s Homecomin’. Jeff and I recently had dinner there, and it was nice to be back already.

We were given some of their popular items (including Church Lady Deviled Eggs and their irresistible Bunch of Puppies). Their Flavors of Florida items here are a Tampa-Style Cuban Sandwich and a Dragon Fruit Mojito.

Art Smith’s Homecomin’ is known for locally sourced, Florida farm fresh ingredients.

Jeff raved about the Tampa-Style Cuban Sandwich. There is also another Tampa nod at Flavors of Florida – the Ybor City-Style Dog at B.B. Wolf’s Sausage Co. at the Marketplace.

Key West Shrimp at Summerhouse on the Lake

Dinner was hosted for us at Summerhouse on the Lake, which offers two items for Flavors of Florida – Key West Shrimp (with tostones, chile verde, Florida citrus salsa and black beans) and a Key Lime Pie Martini (made with Tito’s vodka and KeKe key lime pie cream liqueur, mixed with vanilla and lime).

The Key West Shrimp portion is large – it could make a delicious entree or a nice shareable. The Key Lime Pie Martini is like dessert in a glass, so good. Summerhouse on the Lake is a fantastic addition to the West Side of Disney Springs.

Returning for Disney Springs Flavors of Florida is the Culinary Series, hosted by Kroger Delivery. Just a side note – I love Kroger Delivery and use it all the time. For me, it is a great bargain, convenient and huge time saver. The series will run on Friday mornings through the event. Check out the Culinary Series page for more details.

And don’t forget to pick up the Disney Springs Flavors of Florida Event Guide. The guide features all the items available with photos and locations; information on the Culinary Series and Pairing Events; and a “Seek and Find” activity that also shares a lot about the backstory of Disney Springs. You’ll also find a few offers.

Orange-Hazelnut Petite Gâteau at Amorette's Patisserie

Amorette’s Patisserie is a local favorite and features several items for Flavors of Florida. We were given a Orange-Hazelnut Petite Gâteau to take home, which features layers of orange mousse, orange curd, and honey-orange gel on top of a hazelnut financier. I particularly liked the soft orange mousse. Guests can also find an Orange Bird Dome Cake at the location.

We are looking forward to enjoying Disney Springs Flavors of Florida on our own in the coming weeks.
