Brasserie Rosalie Review After 4 WONDERFUL Lunch and Dinner Visits at Disneyland Paris
Hi everyone!
Brasserie Rosalie at Disneyland Paris opened on December 8th, 2023 in Disney Village and became an instant guest favorite dining location. We dined at Brasserie Rosalie in January four times for lunch/dinner as well as twice for breakfast (see our Brasserie Rosalie breakfast review), as well as stopping by the counter location a few times. Brasserie Rosalie is, in my opinion, far superior to anything that Disneyland Paris offers on property as far as food quality. We dined very little in the parks and resorts during this two-week trip.
Brasserie Rosalie does take reservations, but they also set aside some walk-in space as well.
This Brasserie Rosalie review is for our lunch and dinner visits and covers a number of food and drink choices.
There is one set of doors to enter and exit Brasserie Rosalie, at least when we were there. These doors are under the “Rosalie” in the photo. To the left is the counter location that features snacks, sandwiches, drinks and more.
Stepping into Brasserie Rosalie, there is no confusion as to where you are.
A bar is in the center of the main dining room, and features not only drinks but also a first look at some of the seafood you can order. Brasserie Rosalie has wonderful seafood choices and also other items.
In the past, I’ve tried to find lobster for Jeff in Paris and it isn’t so easy. Now it is at Disney Village! That and snails, shrimp, oysters and more. You can check out the Brasserie Rosalie menu here that we posted in December.
More seafood is shown next to the bar.
Brasserie Rosalie offers cocktails, champagnes, wines and beer to drink. I found the choices for wine and champagne very nice.
There were several different Kronenbourg beers on tap and a Grimbergen Blonde.
We always asked to sit “outside”, which is indoors but a separate room with large windows. This area has doors that lead outside, although they were not in use coming or going. A lot of guests tried to enter this way.
We dined mostly at off-peak times. The restaurant did get busy at meal times.
Our first set of drinks was a Grimbergen for Jeff and an Aperol Spritz for me. I stuck mostly with the Aperol Spritz for each meal because it was a fair price at 10 € and delicious.
Bread was always brought out for our meals, including at breakfast.
Butter is La Conviette, which is a very nice choice.
Here is a look at the section of the Brasserie Rosalie menu that features a special lunch menu for 27 €. Guests can order either a starter and main OR a main and dessert.
Just FYI – menu items and prices can change at anytime, so take it as a guide.
Jeff ordered the lunch menu during this visit and started with the Butternut Cream Soup with Chestnuts, which was priced at 10.50 € on its own. After I tried a spoonful, I said I could easily have this and a glass of wine and be pretty happy. The soup is so creamy and has soft chestnuts in it.
His main was the Toulouse Pork Sausage with mashed potatoes. He enjoyed this very much, although it was his least favorite of the entrees he tried. It is still a great dish with the menu.
Before showing my entree, here is a look at the menu where I ordered it from.
My entree on this day was the Braised Beef with Parmesan rigatoni, which was 27 €. When I received the entree, I was a little disappointed because it looked like it was mostly pasta and not much beef. However…
Once I mixed the dish, there was a lot of beef. I actually prefer a heavier pasta to meat ratio and it may have been, but there was a lot of tender beef in addition to plenty of pasta. We stay at Hotel Relais Spa, which has a microwave and refrigerator, so I took leftovers from Rosalie back several times. It was never an issue to ask for a box for leftovers, and what wonderful second meals they made!
On this day, the dessert we ordered to split was the Souffléed Valrhona Chocolate Mousse, which comes with bourbon vanilla ice cream. We had three great desserts, and this one was just like molten chocolate with ice cream. It makes me want to go back just to have it.
Before looking at more food, I wanted to show a couple of more photos of the restaurant.
Brasserie Rosalie is in the former Café Mickey and is two stories. We didn’t see any guests dining upstairs when we visited.
Jeff ordered a Kronenbourg 1664 during the next meal.
He also ordered the Grilled Lobster for 48 €, which came with fries. He loved the lobster, but the fries are just so-so and probably the only so-so item we had here over many meals. I forgot to photograph my Margarita individually, but it is in the back here. I thought it was a bit small for the price but still a nice drink.
I also ordered a couple of glasses of wine over the course of our meals and didn’t think to photograph them either. I guess I was too busy enjoying the meals.
Here is another look at the lobster. It is amazing he can have lobster in Disney Village – good lobster! – and hopefully it is ordered enough to stay on the menu. We were told the lobster comes from Canada.
Jeff enjoyed having the lobster (and he had some European lobster as an appetizer at La Table de Lumière a few days later in the Disneyland Hotel).
I ordered the Chicken Supreme with Morel Mushrooms for 25 €. While I enjoyed the chicken and the mushrooms made a lovely sauce, we were told by the waiter that the side dish was even more popular with guests.
The Gratin Dauphinois was the side dish, and he was right about it being even more delicious. I am not someone who eats much potatoes gratin, but this is an exception. This elevated the value of the dish.
For dessert, we split the Profiteroles with Warm Valrhona Chocolate Mousse for 12.50 €. I love that Brasserie Rosalie uses the high quality Valrhona chocolate in more than one dessert.
On this particular day, when we left the restaurant, almost every table we passed had the profiteroles on it. I assume everyone was coming in for afternoon dessert and drinks. This is such a wonderful dessert option. Of the three desserts we tried, I don’t know which is my favorite – they are all different from each other.
I ordered hot chocolate. Brasserie Rosalie is run by Groupe Bertrand, which also runs the iconic Angelina tea room in Paris. I was told the hot chocolate comes from there and the tea does (the latter is mentioned on the menu). And looking at the current menu, it shows the famous Mont-Blanc Angelina is now on the menu too. I am sorry to miss that! I received an Angelina wrapped biscuit with my hot chocolate. Brasserie Rosalie serves a lot of high quality items.
On another night, Jeff ordered the Rosalie’s Sauerkraut, which may have been his favorite item of all (up there with the lobster). It is a traditional dish in France. This comes with Strasbourg sausage, white sausage, smoked sausage with cumin, smoked pork belly, pork loin, boiled potatoes and sauerkraut. There is nothing on this plate I will eat, but Jeff devoured it. A French friend said this was a very good version of the traditional dish. The cost was 28 €. On this evening, I stuck with another order of Braised Beef with Rigatoni.
Thank you to our friend @FiBelleFi, we have a photo and review of the Salmon Filet with Beurre Blanc Sauce that comes with roasted winter vegetables. She ordered from a 3-course menu that was not available when we were there.
She says, “By far the best fish dish I’ve had at DLP and I’ve had almost all of them of the last 6 years. This is a high quality and large piece of fish. The beurre blanc sauce is decadent in a gentle way, not too salty or heavy. Perfect for dipping bread into – don’t leave any behind. Potatoes and carrots are cooked to an optimal tenderness – not too soft but just soft enough. Exquisite.”
The last dessert we tried was the Floating Island with custard sauce and salted butter caramel. I remember thinking that we’d eaten so much and while this was delicious, it was hard to focus on it. Next time! It is a beautiful and tasty dessert. Everything is served in an appealing way here.
On the first day we dined at Brasserie Rosalie, it had snowed the previous night and we had several days of a lovely blanket of snow.
Brasserie Rosalie is just fantastic. I wish I could be there now after looking at all of our food and drink photos. The service was mostly very good, and I loved the atmosphere. For many years, I’ve wished that Disneyland Paris would have authentic French food as well as really good food. Being so close to Paris, Disneyland Paris doesn’t rise to the level it should. But Brasserie Rosalie does.
A friend who lives in Paris marveled to me how guests could have Angelina hot chocolate and tea here without a wait. That said, I would really like to go to Angelina sometime and had thought about going this trip (it did not work out this time). Maybe next visit. But I definitely look forward to many more visits to Brasserie Rosalie at Disneyland Paris later this year.
