It has been almost two years since The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers was announced for the Walt Disney World BoardWalk. Originally slated for 2023, The Cake Bake Shop will be a new table service restaurant and bakery “with storybook sweet treats and dreamy desserts”.

We were on the Walt Disney World BoardWalk yesterday and I have photos to share of the construction on The Cake Bake Shop. The signs on the walls now just say “Coming Soon”.

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers is where the former ESPN Club was for many years. In this photo, you can also see the BoardWalk Deli (formerly the BoardWalk Bakery) and then the BoardWalk Ice Cream shop that replaced the former Ample Hills Creamery in 2021.

The Cake Bake Shop will offer both savory and dessert menus as well as afternoon tea service “in a whimsical atmosphere that complements the magic of the idyllic charm of Disney’s BoardWalk that guests know and love.”

Back in September, Gwendolyn Rogers said on The Cake Bake website that the location was scheduled to open in early 2024 (at that time, she used the words “early next year”).

The bakery will include cakes, cookies, pies, macarons, coffee, croissants and more.

There is still quite a bit of work to go on The Cake Bake Shop, but construction seems to be moving relatively quickly now (compared with earlier this year).

The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be a very popular addition on the Walt Disney World BoardWalk! There are two locations in Indiana, and The BoardWalk will be the third location for the brand and the first for Florida.
