(Photos, Video) Mickey and Friends Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Disney Dream – Very Merrytime Cruises 2023
Hi everyone!
There is a new Mickey and Friends Tree Lighting Ceremony on the Disney Cruise Line! We sailed the Disney Dream on a Very Merrytime Cruise this past week and have video and photos to share.
First, here is our video of the Mickey and Friends Tree Lighting Ceremony, which features Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto – as well as Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald come down the stairs while performing to “Happy Holiday / The Holiday Season”. Goofy adds a present to the pile at the bottom of the stairs.
Mickey hands the sing-a-long book to Minnie.
The characters get ready to lead the audience in Christmas Carols, starting out with “Deck the Halls”.
Goofy plays the bells during “Jingle Bells”.
They continue with “Jingle Bells” on the stairs.
It was time for “Let it Snow!” and Pluto has “snow” in a sand pail that he sprinkles on the audience. During the various shows, the front area is set up for kids.
Pluto dumps the remainder of the bucket.
It is time to light the Christmas tree!
Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive on the stairs after the tree has been lit.
The beautiful tree in the atrium now is sparkling with lights!
And here are photos of the Disney Dream atrium with the Christmas tree lit, as well as garland swags lining the railings. They even sparkled beautifully during the day.
The atrium wasn’t busy at this time due to it being Castaway Cay day. We were on the ship still at nearly 10:00 a.m. and it was a great time for photos.
Nearby is the large gingerbread house as well. I will post about it in a different article this week.
Disney hosted us on this Disney Dream for this Very Merrytime Cruise. The seasonal cruises are very popular, whether Halloween on the High Seas or Very Merrytime – and of course, the themed seasonal events like Pixar Day at Sea.
While we were hosted on the Disney Dream for this cruise, all views are ours. Jeff and I have both been sailing on the Disney Cruise Line since 1998. We recommend our sponsor MEI’s Mouse Fan Travel for booking a Disney Cruise.
