Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort Main Building Refurbishment Update from August 6th, 2023
Hi everyone!
The main building of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort has been undergoing refurbishment on guest rooms. While the lobby redo has reportedly been delayed, the lobby continues to be utilized for construction equipment and such and work also affects the exterior of the main building.
Here are photos from yesterday!
From the monorail, you can see this entrance to Disney’s Grand Floridian (near the Alice in Wonderland themed water play area is currently closed off.
Here is a look from above of the area in the lobby that is walled off. There is a lot more walled off than during our last visit. A couple of lifts sits within the walls. There isn’t a lot of seating currently in the lobby.
The giant bird cage replica is under wraps.
The bird cage designed elevator was working.
If you enter Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort from the parking lot, this is the current view. I do like the peacock themed floral arrangement that is currently there.
Concept art lines the walls.
Concept art of the re-imagined guest rooms is shown.
I am surprised that actual photos aren’t shown instead of artwork, including of Narcoossee’s.
Most of the length of the lobby has walls.
Victoria & Albert’s also reopened a number of months ago.
Here is a sign telling guests for Courtyard Access, to go to the exit near the Grand Floridian Cafe.
Work continues on the rooms above.
It was pouring out when we were inside the resort. We were able to step outside after about an hour for photos. Here are photos from outside.
I don’t know how long the main building room refurbishment at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort will take. I’ve read that the lobby refurbishment will likely be next year.
