Meet Pixie: Cinderella Pony Born at Disney World on July 11th, 2023

Hi everyone!

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground at Walt Disney World welcomed a newborn Shetland pony on July 11th, 2023 and that baby now has a name – Pixie!

Disney says of the new pony,  “Pixie is very energetic and inquisitive, and she has been spending a lot of time bonding with her mom Lady and exploring the sights and sounds at Tri-Circle-D Ranch.” There is a close bond between Pixie and Lady, with the two galloping through pastures around the ranch.

Foals usually start leaving their mother’s side and becoming more independent a few weeks after birth. Disney says that newborn foals typically weigh about 35 pounds when born. Within the first three months, Pixie will grow to nearly three quarters of her mature size. Fully grown, foals will grow to approximately 450 pounds.

One day, Pixie will be helping to pull Cinderella’s pumpkin coach at Walt Disney World – just as her sister Lily (featured in the latest season of National Geographic’s “Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom)” does. Pixie is the second Cinderella pony born at Tri-Circle-D Ranch.

Guests can see Pixie and her mom Lady at Tri-Circle-D Ranch in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground (take the bus or boat to the Settlement). Nearly 100 horses and ponies call Tri-Circle-D Ranch home.

We do enjoy visiting Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and will look for Pixie during our next visit.
