EPCOT Construction Update from June 21st, 2023 Including CommuniCore Hall, Plaza
Hi everyone!
I took the monorail yesterday for some EPCOT construction photos. We have had a lot of stormy weather but I was able to get in a ride between weather bands, including of some large lighting fixtures and such that I have not seen yet.
First, here is work on the rideshare loop.
The forest near Guest Relations looks fully filled in.
And we are coming up onto where CommuniCore Plaza and CommuniCore Hall are being built.
Before moving further toward that area, there looks to be a wood fence being built.
And then Dreamer’s Point, where the Walt the Dreamer statue will be.
I don’t know what this will be, maybe lighting? I will take a closer photo of it next Tuesday instead of cropping it from a wider shot.
Here is another look.
CommuniCore Hall will be a flexible exhibition and gallery space, “offering a wide variety of experiences that highlight art, live music, food – complete with a demonstration kitchen – and more.” There will also be a new meet and greet for Mickey & Friends.
CommuniCore Plaza is also here and “will have the flexibility to host intimate musical performances that extend out into the nearby gardens as well as large-scale concerts.”
There are large fixtures that look like they are for lighting.
The restrooms are now open here. We haven’t been into EPCOT yet since they opened. We planned to visit EPCOT yesterday afternoon but the storms had fired up again.
The Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana area doesn’t look different than a few weeks ago. There were some workers inside but everything looks pretty done when viewing from the monorail.
I am hoping for better weather for photos on Tuesday when I visit EPCOT and I should have a new update posted later Tuesday or on Wednesday.
