“Sing” Characters and Minions Meet Guests at Illumination Theater in Minion Land, Universal Orlando (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

We met Johnny and Gunter from “Sing”, along with Minions at the new Illumination Theater meet and greet in Minion Land at Universal Orlando Resort yesterday!

Minion Land has soft opened a number of experiences, with the Illumination Theater meet and greet location being one of them. While there are other characters that will meet at Illumination Theater, yesterday the Minions and “Sing” characters alternated.

Illumination Theater is down the street from the new Bake My Day shop.

We stood in line for both sets of characters starting at 9:00 a.m. The signs display which franchise characters are meeting and who will be next.

“Coming soon” here is the “Sing” characters.

And here, you can see that the “Sing” characters are meeting and the Minions are coming soon.

 

The door that opens for the characters features Illumination characters. including the Minions and Gru.

There is an announcement for the characters before each set. This is really fun! If you are in line, you won’t see it as easily or at all. The door opens and the characters appear.

We didn’t wait long early in the day for the characters. The line did get longer in the afternoon (after a big rainstorm cleared).

We have met the Minions previously at Universal Orlando, inside the exit of Despicable Me Minion Mayhem. I like having the characters outside.

While the Minions were the only other characters we saw yesterday, Gru, Margo, Edith, and Agnes are supposed to be meeting here as well (and Rosita from “Sing”).

The Minions are always fun!

We don’t know if there will eventually be a set schedule of characters or if it will be a surprise each day.

Minion Land will officially open this summer, but you can enjoy some of the experiences now! These include the Illumination Theater meet and greets, Minion Cafe and Bake My Day.
