What is “Rogers: The Musical”?
- “Rogers: The Musical” is a fictional Broadway musical featured in a nearly five-minute segment in the first episode of the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.” It’s based on the life of Steve Rogers, the first Captain America.
- The backstory in the Disney+ series is that in 2024 “Rogers: The Musical” was produced at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City. The Avengers were invited to see the premiere of the musical, although Clint Barton (Hawkeye) was the only Avenger in attendance.
- In the Disney+ series, the fictional musical features a show-stopping number called, “Save the City,” based on The Battle of New York featured in film, “The Avengers.” Long-time, award-winning, songwriting team Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman co-wrote the lyrics, with Shaiman also producing the actual song recording in the original version of “Rogers: The Musical” seen in “Hawkeye.”
- More details regarding the storyline, music and the debut date will be shared in the future.
