Chalk Art at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 1/30/22 Includes Miguel, 3D Groot
Hi everyone!
We spent an hour at EPCOT yesterday to enjoy a little of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. One of my favorite aspects of the festival is the chalk art. Sunday is a great day to go for this, as Chicago artist Nate Baranowski finishes up his 3D artwork – this week he was putting final touches on Groot. Here are photos of chalk art from yesterday!
Leigh had created a number of Disney chalk art pieces, including from “Soul”. The problem often on this walkway are the shadows that go through the art from the fence. It isn’t a great location in that way.
Leigh’s artwork features Joe Gardner and 22.
Miguel is next. Leigh is one of two chalk artists who are able to chalk Disney characters at the festival.
She also created a Lilo and Stitch.
Nate Baranowski was finishing up his large Groot 3D chalk art.
The lighting was a bit harsh at the time of day we were there (3:30 p.m.) but you can see the amazing work he does.
There is a lot of depth to the work.
After he finishes the artwork, guests are able to step in for a photo.
Last week, Baranowski created “Soul” artwork but it was washed away pretty quickly during the rain we had.
Baranowski finishes the last bit of the artwork, which takes him the entire weekend.
New this year is artwork inspired by National Geographic.
There were a few other chalk art drawings that were hard to see due to location or lighting/shadows. I expect to be back next Sunday to see what is new. The weather was cold and you can see the plants being protected in this photo.
It was a beautiful day to enjoy a little of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts!
