“Drawing on Inspiration” Display Features Imagineer Artwork Celebrating Walt Disney World’s 50th at EPCOT International Festival of the Arts
Hi everyone!
“Drawing on Inspiration: Celebrating 50 Years of Magic” is a display on EPCOT construction walls along the Imagination walkway during EPCOT International Festival of the Arts (running through February 21, 2022). This beautiful artwork is by Disney Imagineers and includes a variety of characters and attractions. Disney says that Imagineers “are proud to showcase mesmerizing illustrations, each inspired by some of their most magical memories”. Here are photos of of the art!
The walkway was pretty busy the other day as it also served as the line for the popular Figment popcorn bucket.
Will Martinez created this Haunted Mansion artwork with a “50th” in the center and a cake. The Hitchhiking Ghosts and Madame Leota are included.
Will Martinez talks about the concept. He says, “I imagined how the happy haunts of my favorite attraction might ring in the momentous occasion”.
Gus has his ball and chain and holds his thumb up.
“From HBG” (Hat Box Ghost).
Madame Leota looks on.
Allie Wong and Stephanie Jazmines created this artwork that includes Cinderella Castle and elements of all four parks.
“This piece was created with gratitude to Walt Disney World for being such a wonderful setting for some of our most beloved memories with beloved companions.”

There are Mickey balloons.
A monorail passes in front of Spaceship Earth and World Showcase.
The Peach Boys from the former Food Rocks attraction are even included.

The Orange Bird is here.
The Country Bears and even Chuuby from Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway are included.
The next piece is from Brittany Smith and also offers up quite a lot of characters. It is nice to see so many classic characters included with all the artwork.
Smith says that for the last eight years, she’s had the “honor of caring for Audio-Animatronic figures throughout Walt Disney World”. She shares some of her favorites here.
The Carousel of Progress is included.
Sorcerer Mickey and Donald are here with a 50th Anniversary cake.

Xiao Qing Chen created the next artwork.
It features Cinderella Castle decorated for the 50th Anniversary.
Chen says, “Much like Tinker Bell and the fairies of Pixie Hollow, the work that Imagineers create at Walt Disney World exists only because our guests believe in the magic”.
The last artwork by Jessica Hillis looks like a comic book.
Hillis wanted to celebrate the 50th and pay homage to EPCOT International Festival of the Arts.
All four parks are represented and it begins with a mouse.
The artwork is beautiful and meaningful. What is your favorite?
