12 Things Not to Miss During EPCOT International Festival of the Arts 2022

Hi everyone!

We attended the first full day of EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. The popular festival is in its sixth year and runs daily through February 21st, 2022. While we will be back at EPCOT on Tuesday to enjoy more of the festival, I wanted to share 12 highlights not to miss. The event was very busy on Friday (and not just for Figment popcorn buckets!). My twelve highlights are not in a particular order.

1 – Chalk Full of Character scavenger hunt – Disney character decals can be found around World Showcase. This is one of my favorite things to do during EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! There are some new characters added this year including from “Luca” and “Turning Red”. Read our article here.

2 – Disney on Broadway Concert Series – Disney on Broadway stars perform songs they are known for and also other fan favorite tunes. The concerts are free to attend, but guests can also choose to purchase a Disney on Broadway Concert Series Dining Package.

3 – Art from over 100 artists – We caught up with some artist friends and picked up a litho on our way around World Showcase on Friday. There is plenty of art to choose from, from postcards to lithographs to originals. Many artists are available during the festival to sign their work.

4 – Expression Section: A Paint by Numbers Mural – This is always a fun activity. Guests receive a paintbrush and paint and fill in squares on a huge mural.

5 – Figment’s Brush with the Masters – This scavenger hunt costs $9.99 and includes a prize. Figment is hidden in famous works of art around World Showcase.

6 – Drawing on Inspiration: Celebrating 50 Years of Magic – Disney Imagineers showcase artwork that is inspired by Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary.

7 – Animation Academy – If you’ve ever participated in an Animation Academy at Walt Disney World, this is the same – you learn to draw a Disney character by an animation artist. This activity is held at the American Gardens Theater.

8 – 15 Food Studios – Guests can try a variety of different dishes at 15 Food Studios around World Showcase. We purchased much of the menu from the Morocco pavilion and everything was delicious.

9 – Chalk Art – Another of my favorite things to do is to check out the newest chalk art on the walkway that leads into World Showcase. Chalk artists are out every day so you can watch the art in action.

10 – Performance artists including Trevor Carlton – Trevor Carlton is always so fun to watch as he creates works of Disney art in about 10 minutes on stage (while dancing). There are also musical performances and feats of strength by Art Defying Gravity – check the schedule for what performances are available on the date you plan to go.

11 – Spaceship Earth “Rainbow Connection” Show – Spaceship Earth received a permanent lighting package as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary and during EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, there is a special “Rainbow Connection” light show that runs about 3 minutes.

There is also some fun merchandise to purchase, photo ops and more during EPCOT International Festival of the Arts! We will be back on Tuesday for much of the day and I’ll be posting articles all week long about the event. We also will have our Mousesteps Weekly episode out this week all about it!
