Animator Eric Goldberg Talks About His Contribution to “Disney Enchantment” at the Magic Kingdom (Video from Disney)
Hi everyone!
The nighttime spectacular “Disney Enchantment” has been showing at the Magic Kingdom as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. Today, Disney shared a video of Walt Disney Animation Studios Animation Director Eric Goldberg watching some of his creations on Cinderella Castle during the show. Disney says on the Disney Parks Blog, Eric adds “Disney Enchantment” to his already impressive portfolio, which includes supervising the animation of everyone’s favorite Genie in “Aladdin” and co-directing “Pocahontas.”
During the video, Eric watches “Disney Enchantment” with his daughter and you can see him mentioning characters he animated for the show (Genie and Fairy Godmother). He says, “Working on the show..and seeing it – those are two completely different things.” He continues, “Largely my contributions were to the projections. Hand-drawn animation was what was perfected at the Disney Studios. And for us, it feels like we are helping keep the legacy moving forward with characters that people love…”. Goldberg notes some of his favorite shows and attractions that he has contributed to include the Three Caballeros Gran Fiesta Tour at EPCOT and being animation director for the new Cirque du Soleil show at Disney Springs, Drawn to Life.
