Video, Photos: Spaceship Earth Lighting as Beacon of Magic for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary
Hi everyone!
Spaceship Earth now has a permanent lighting package after becoming one of four Beacons of Magic (one in each park) for The World’s Most Magical Celebration. Jeff took video on the first night and combined it with b-roll Disney provided to give a look at the gorgeous lighting. Here is the video, which also includes a monorail passing with new lighting added to the undercarriage. I have some of my own photos from that night below it. I’ll have more photos this week!
I took a photo across World Showcase Lagoon toward Spaceship Earth after “Harmonious”. I haven’t seen the full show yet – I was at the final showing of “Happily Ever After” at the Magic Kingdom and left a little early to get back into EPCOT.
On the way back to the front entrance, Spaceship Earth was lighting up in different ways. There were a lot of gasps at each change from guests around me.
This was my favorite lighting sequence I saw – with lights that look like more like stars in the sky. I didn’t see it again (that I can remember) but I thought it was simple and elegant.
Here are more photos of the lights on Spaceship Earth while I was in front of it.
The lights look really great underneath too.
Spaceship Earth is reflected in the pylon.
The lighting of Spaceship Earth may be one of my favorite aspects of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. It is beautiful!
We will have much more this week from The World’s Most Magical Celebration.
