“Wonders of Xandar” Pavilion Announced for EPCOT After Being Revealed in “A Portrait of Walt Disney World” Book

Disney announced today that “Wonders of Xandar” pavilion will take place of what used to be Universe of Energy. The pavilion name was first revealed in the new book “A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of the Most Magical Place on Earth“. I wrote a review that included the name of the pavilion since I’d not heard of it before.

In the book, Imagineer Wyatt Winter says, “The Wonders of Xandar will feature their technology, knowledge, and history and bring it to Terrans (that is what they call those of us from Earth)…” There are a couple of short paragraphs about the pavilion and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind with concept art on page 197 before it moves into a couple of pages on the former Wonders of Life and the upcoming PLAY! Pavilion.

Today it was also announced that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind would open sometime in 2022.

There are a lot of fun tidbits in the coffee table book “A Portrait of Walt Disney World: 50 Years of the Most Magical Place on Earth” – past, present and future of Walt Disney World as the resort turns 50 years old – with a lot of history within its 320 pages.
