Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Construction Update From July 11th, 2021 as Thatched Roof is Added
Hi everyone!
I stopped by Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort today and noticed workers adding a thatched roof to the porte-cochère. The resort reopens to guests on July 19th, 2021! The Disney Vacation Club villas have been open for over a year but now guests will be able to stay in the newly rethemed Moana themed standard rooms. Quite a lot has changed since our last updates.
I was there early this morning and there were plenty of workers adding the roof. I stopped by about four hours later and will show how things looked then later in the article.
The monorail station will not be ready to reopen with the resort.
The porte-cochère looks really nice!
The colors really match the resort.
Here is a look at the original concept art, followed by more photos from today. I’ve been staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort since 1977 and look forward to seeing the completed work.
These photos were taken in the early afternoon today.
There still seems to be a lot of work to go on the monorail station.
This is the walkway from the Great Ceremonial House to the monorail platform.
Monorail Yellow passed by.
It is just about a week until the resort officially reopens! We will share much more than.
