Disneyland Gives Sneak Peek of Refurbished King Arthur Carrousel, Parks to Reopen April 30th, 2021

Hi everyone!

Disney shared a video and two photos of the beautifully refurbished King Arthur Carrousel at Disneyland Park in Anaheim today. The Disneyland Resort parks reopen on April 30th, 2021, and the carousel is now back closer to the old color scheme of parchment white, purple and they added some magenta and other colors, as per longtime Imagineer Kim Irvine in the video below. Walt Disney was inspired by the Griffith Park Carousel to create Disneyland, and the King Arthur Carrousel has received a deserving refurbishment as the centerpiece of Fantasyland.

The horses underwent a refurbishment that included jewels reset and 14k gold leaf accents. Each horse was hand painted using more than 30 colors.

When Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, reopens on April 30, 2021, guests will be delighted to discover a brightened version of the King Arthur Carousel, sparkling with 14k gold leaf accents, vibrant details and bold colors – each steed and hand painted using more than 30 colors. Beloved since Disneyland Park’s opening day in 1955, King Arthur Carrousel is the whirling center of Fantasyland, a regal throwback to the days of knights jousting and ladies fair.
