Creations Shop Replacing Mouse Gear at EPCOT This Summer; Club Cool Also Returning
Hi everyone!
Disney announced today that the new EPCOT flagship merchandise location will be known as Creations Shop (replacing Mouse Gear), and will open this summer. Disney says of Creations Shop, that it “features a bold, sleek design that creates a perfect showcase for the rich variety of items you’ll find as part of your EPCOT experience.” The store will be open and bright with large glass walls that allow sunlight to pour in.
To the right in the artist concept rendering above (which does not include current health and safety measures like face coverings, as per Disney), there is a mural of Mickey Mouse. Disney says that there will be “original homages” to him throughout the shop, including large murals and “new artist expressions that showcase the global, contemporary icon that Mickey has become for generations around the world”.
You can read more on the Disney Parks Blog about Creations Shop. In addition, Club Cool will also return to EPCOT this summer. This has been a favorite location at Epcot for over 20 years, first as Ice Station Cool and then with the name change later to Club Cool. Disney states that it will celebrate Coca-Cola in a fresh new way, “while keeping the fan-favorite experience that invites you to explore tasty drinks from around the world”. And there will be some “new magic to bring the global experience of Coca-Cola to life for you”.
The two locations will be in what will soon be called World Celebration. Epcot has been undergoing a major transformation with a new fountain and lighting at the front of the park.
I am especially looking forward to the return of Club Cool! There is a lot coming to Epcot in the future, including Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure on October 1st, 2021; Harmonious and eventually Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind.
