World Drive Entrance Arch Transformation Progress for Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary from March 17th, 2021 (Photos)
Hi everyone!
Here is a look at the transformation of the Walt Disney World entrance on World Drive from yesterday. All of the entrances are receiving a new look (I have photos from two other entrances finished below in the article) for “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” that kicks off October 1st in celebration of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.
Cones were blocking all but the left lane while approaching the arch.
Mickey is finished on the right hand side but not Minnie. Goofy and Donald are also finished.
“Where Dreams Come True” was recently removed and painting continues.
Heading underneath, work is going on overhead.
Here is a photo of the work that I took on March 4th. Mickey was being started on at that time and the “Where Dreams Come True” is underneath the Walt Disney World logo.
At that time, Mickey was under wraps.
I took a photo of Donald then and this is what he looked like.
I took the next two photos at completed entrances in the past few weeks. Underneath the “Walt Disney World” logo it says “The Most Magical Place on Earth” with gold flags above it. This is from Osceola Parkway.
I took this at Western Way. It was toward the end of the day and the light was hitting it differently. I like the new, clean look. The colors had faded in the Florida sun so it’s nice to see the deep blue colors.
It has been fun to watch the transformation of the signs, Cinderella Castle and more as we approach the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World.
