Disneyland Moves Toward a Spring Reopening

Hi everyone!

Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock posted a message today after news broke that California theme parks will be able to reopen at 15% capacity if a county is in the red tier. It looks like Disneyland is looking at a spring reopening and that will be allowed starting April 1st, 2021.

Potrock said, “We are encouraged that theme parks now have a path toward reopening this spring, getting thousands of people back to work and greatly helping neighboring businesses and our entire community. With responsible Disney safety protocols already implemented around the world, we can’t wait to welcome our guests back and look forward to sharing an opening date soon”.

The Disneyland Resort is just days away from being closed for one full year, except for the Downtown Disney District that reopened last year. The resort just sold tickets for the “A Touch of Disney” foodie event at Disney California Adventure so I’m not sure if this will change anything with that event. I live in the Orlando area and our parks have been able to be open since last June (Walt Disney World opened with safety protocols in early July, 2020). Walt Disney World has overall done an excellent job with health and safety. Nearby Knott’s Berry Farm has been running events when able to since last summer with reduced capacity and safety measures.

We will post more when announced!
