Leave a Legacy Returns to EPCOT, First Look from Disney
Hi everyone!
Leave A Legacy has returned to EPCOT as panels are unveiled just outside of the park. Tiles featuring guest photos were part of the sculptures for 20 years at the entrance plaza. They were created for the Millennium Celebration. Disney shared this first look and we will have our own photos in the next couple of days.
There are now colorful walls just outside the park featuring the photos that guests took for the Leave a Legacy program. The video that played to promote the original program mentioned that it’d be an attraction where guests could be part of it. The tiles were often included as a bonus with Walt Disney World vacation packages. I never did get one.
I still remember when the sculptures were being installed, one of the first photos was of Imagineer John Hench – he had designed them (I am not sure if that tile was temporary until guest tiles were installed).
Laurel Slater says on the Disney Parks Blog, These newly designed panels are the first of many that will be installed outside the EPCOT touch points, featuring vibrant hues from the park’s new color palette. Along with the fresh look for Leave A Legacy, the beautiful fountain and gleaming pylons further illustrate the park’s transformation and the magic of possibility.
Guests can search for a tile at the new location by using a smart device to scan the QR code at the Leave a Legacy display or go to the EPCOT guest relations team. And check out the Disney Parks Blog, there is a nice Leave a Legacy Story featuring Shawn and Laurel Slater, both Disney Parks Blog authors.
