Liberty Belle Riverboat Returns to Rivers of America After Refurbishment (Photos and Video From This Morning)

Hi everyone!

The Liberty Belle riverboat at the Magic Kingdom went down for refurbishment on October 5th, 2020 and it was nice to see it reopen today! We rode the first two laps around the Rivers of America. Here are photos and video from this morning.

The Liberty Belle was scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. today.

Here is our video and then photos!

The Rivers of America was drained until a few days ago to replace the underwater track.

The Liberty Belle turned the corner and passed by the Haunted Mansion before the first ride of the day.

We boarded at about 9:30 a.m.

I stood at the back both times, Jeff took video from the front.

I have missed the riverboat views (as well as the People Mover, which isn’t yet reopened).

Tom Sawyer Island also reopened today, but not until 11:00 a.m. and we were leaving at that time. But Cast Members were getting it ready as we passed by.

We passed by Liberty Square.

Harper’s Mill is on the right, but the wording hasn’t been added back yet.

Cinderella Castle is in view here.

We passed by Frontierland.

Chip and Dale were out during the second ride.

The Enchanted Tiki Room is in the background.

And the Country Bear Jamboree sign can be seen.

Shaker and Wendell were out greeting guests.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn Cafe is next.

Splash Mountain can be seen a little through the trees.

Cast Members were getting ready for Tom Sawyer’s Island to open.

Big Al was in the distance.

Big Thunder Mountain is ahead.

On the other side of the boat, a Tom Sawyer Island bridge.

A Tom Sawyer Island raft was in the water.

Here are some views of Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.

The Settler’s Cabin can be seen here. It used to burn years ago and has had smoke more recently (it had neither either time we rode).

Beacon Joe was not at the Alligator Swamp shack.

The keel boat looks repainted.

Various animals can be seen along the way.

The Native American Village is next.

And we are back around to the Haunted Mansion.

It was nice riding the Liberty Belle again!

It was a beautiful day for the Liberty Belle and hopefully we will see the People Mover in Tomorrowland opening in the relatively near future as well (and eventually the Walt Disney World Railroad).
