Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Closing for Refurbishment February Through March, 2021
Hi everyone!
Kiki Tikis Splash Play Area at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will be closed as it undergoes a refurbishment from February through March 2021. Disney says that guests may enjoy the Lava Pool and slide and the Oasis Pool. The water play area first opened in 2015 and I have a lot of visitors to my article this week looking for closure information so I wanted to post this update.

Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is undergoing a relatively major refurbishment as the standard rooms remain closed (the Disney Vacation Club portion is open). Summer is the official opening timeframe for the resort. The standard rooms are receiving a “Moana” update and the Great Ceremonial House has construction out front as a new porte cochere is being added. The monorail station is currently closed as it receives an update as well.
Here is a look at concept art for the future entrance of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.
We have stayed there twice since October, including a couple of weeks ago. The construction was visible but not particularly intrusive. ‘Ohana and Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto are still closed as is Disney’s Spirit of Aloha.
I also posted a photo walk from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to the Magic Kingdom and then on to Disney’s Contemporary Resort last month.
