TRON Construction Update at Magic Kingdom from January 28th, 2021
Hi everyone!
We were at the Magic Kingdom today and I have some photos of the TRON construction to share. The attraction was originally scheduled to open in time for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World this year, but everything I’ve heard is that it has been delayed.
Here is a look at the canopy construction from Seven Seas Lagoon.
Two monorails and a boat are in the foreground with the attraction and Space Mountain seen in the distance.
The PeopleMover was testing the entire time we were in Tomorrowland. The attraction has been closed since before the pandemic but has been testing quite a bit lately. I hope it opens in the relatively near future. TRON can be seen behind it.
From the Astro Orbiter, the TRON canopy can be seen with the PeopleMover track in the foreground.
A Disney Parks Blog post in 2019 said about TRON, “The TRON attraction is based on the guest-favorite attraction TRON Lightcycle Power Run at Shanghai Disneyland. This coaster-style attraction will allow riders to board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles for a thrilling race through the digital frontier.”
Here is a closer look.
And of the PeopleMover as it circled.
We also rode the Tomorrowland Speedway.
Space Mountain can be seen here with the TRON canopy to the left.
This photo is taken in the other direction.
And here are a few photos taken in Storybook Circus.
The canopy can be seen from the hub.
I will be posting more from the Magic Kingdom tomorrow!
