Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort Photo Walk to Disney’s Contemporary Resort Via Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom
This is page 2 of a 3 page photo walk from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort to Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
Guests can enjoy this swing on the sandy beach.
Luau Cove is on the left hand side.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort is ahead.
Disney’s Contemporary Resort can be seen across Seven Seas Lagoon.
Cinderella Castle is in view as well. And I love that I can walk there now from this direction.
This is a lovely path to walk on, especially when staying at one of these resorts. I enjoyed quiet sunrise walks in November and plan to again in January.
There are boats on Seven Seas Lagoon that used to run on the Discovery River in Disney’s Animal Kingdom park.
I like these boats because they are big and open air.
Franck’s Studio is to the left (for planning Disney weddings). I didn’t post any of the bricks below, but there are bricks from guests who have gotten married here.
The Wedding Pavilion is to the right.
There is a sign pointing to all the locations nearby.
This is the entrance to the Wedding Pavilion.
At the time I photographed this, there was an unthemed scrim on the Main Street Railroad Station entrance. I will show the updated scrim later in the article. TRON is rising to the right of it.
We are walking around the Villas at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. We arrive here at 7:55 a.m. This has only been an 11 minute walk so far.
The main Grand Floridian building can be seen beyond the DVC addition. The resort is currently open, as is Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
We are continuing our walk alongside the Seven Seas Lagoon on the path.
Three ducks take a dive. Sometimes you may see an otter (not often) and always there are a variety of birds.
Space Mountain is seen from my walk.
We are turning to the left with the DVC Villas on the left. The main building is ahead.
The views all along the walk are beautiful. Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort was inspired by Hotel del Coronado near San Diego although the two resorts are very different inside.
There are running trail signs. These weren’t here when I first started photo walks in 2007, then they were placed with New Balance sponsorship (which was removed a year or two back).
There is a beach area here.
Beaches Pool Bar & Grill is to the left in the main pool area.
There are two pools at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort, this is the Beach Pool.
We are still walking toward the main building before heading off to the Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Contemporary Resort.
This is the setting for when there is a campfire program.
There are face covering signs.
The main building is getting closer.
There are steps here and also a walkway up without steps.
I took the path up.
Here is a wide angle view at the side of the resort.
We are walking around the main building toward the courtyard and then Gasparilla Island Grill. Gasparilla Island Grill is a counter service location and I use mobile order occasionally for it.
We are walking along the main building.
The Courtyard Pool is to the right, and includes swan topiaries.
Here is a look at the topiaries with the fountain. This is a lovely, relaxing area with the Courtyard Pool in the background.
We aren’t going to the courtyard, but continuing on the walkway around the main building.
Gasparilla Island Grill is on the left hand side.
There is outdoor seating with a view of Cinderella Castle in the distance.
The Grand 1 Yacht is here as well. I only have been on the yacht once, about 20 years ago.
The reflection here was nice.
On the day I photographed the walk, I stopped at Gasparilla Island Grill for breakfast before walking to the Magic Kingdom.
While there are Mickey waffles and other items on the menu, I ordered oatmeal and enjoyed it with a view.
The walkway entrance to the Magic Kingdom is near Gasparilla Island Grill. It can be easy to miss, I expect there will be more signage at some point.
There is a very small sign to the left hand side.
Here is closeup on that small sign.
On to page 3 with a stop to look at swimming deer!
