Grand Floridian Resort Walkway to Magic Kingdom Nears Completion as Resort Officially Opens
Hi everyone!
The Grand Floridian walkway to the Magic Kingdom was still being worked on today. I had hoped it would be completed for the official opening day of the resort but it isn’t yet. It is so close though and hopefully we will see the path open in the coming days. Here are pictures from today! I will have an article about the opening of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort shortly.
I took the monorail around from the Magic Kingdom for a look at the walkway.
I’ve been really looking forward to having the path open. This can potentially allow guests to walk from the TTC to the Magic Kingdom and then even to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Especially these days with social distancing needed, it will be nice having the option instead of a ferry or monorail. Today I walked from the Grand Floridian to my car at the TTC and I’m guessing this will add another 10+ minutes.
There were workers on the bridge.
They were working on the bridge that swings.
The landscaping looks nice here as well now. And you can see there is a gate at the bridge.
Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort can be seen in view. I am looking forward to all the new vantage points that will be available.
The fully extended bridge can be seen here.
Here are more photos from the walkway as we approach the Magic Kingdom.
This will be my last walkway update before it opens and I’ll take photos of it as soon as it does.
Flowers were being added today as I stopped by Disney’s Grand Floridian. I will post more about the resort opening in a bit! The day was beautiful, we’ve had a lot of rain (including much of the day yesterday) and I expect that didn’t help the walkway project progress quickly.
