Gideon’s Bakehouse Adds New Theming Details at Disney Springs – Scheduled to Open Later in 2020
Hi everyone!
Gideon’s Bakehouse opened in Orlando just a few years ago with one employee and became a very well known spot for cookies almost immediately. The walls went up on the upcoming flagship second location at Disney Springs over a month ago, and yesterday I noticed some new theming as construction work could be heard from inside. Here is a look from yesterday!
Gideon’s Bakehouse is scheduled to open this year.
I noticed “Rare Books” and “Curiosities” above. This was new since my visit last week. On the Gideon’s Bakehouse website, it says, There is a deep and complicated history of the building we inhabit at our Disney Springs location. We’ve managed to uncover a great deal of information about the original owner of our vintage space and it feels like he is unveiling more to us as we rebuild what once was. Care to know more? Visit us in our new location and ask us what we’ve learned. More of the story unfolds with each passing week.
Here is a closer look.
Here, it says “Lindwurm Bookseller” and “Curious Books & Antiquities”. The original Gideon’s has theming that includes books and it will be interesting to see how different this location is. It will be quite a bit larger than the East End Market shop.
And a different view of it over the wall.
We’ve shown the walls previously, which include a number of their popular cookies.
The building was open and busy with construction.
I will actually be going to Gideon’s Bakehouse on Saturday in Orlando. I wanted to try the Coffee Cake Cookie, which is only an August flavor at that location – it will be at the Disney Springs location every day. Since Saturday is my birthday, I decided to buy my cake there as well since I’ve only tried cookies so far. I’ll probably have a little write-up on what I purchase. Gideon’s Bakehouse is about an hour drive for me so I’m happy I’ll be able to pick up a cookie every now and then (or a slice of cake) soon at Disney Springs!
