Looking Back at the “Jammin’ Chefs” Show Featuring Chip & Dale from March 2020 at Disney California Adventure

Hi everyone –

In early March, I visited the Disneyland Resort for an offsite media event and to enjoy 5 days in the parks. Disney California Adventure had kicked off its annual Food & Wine Festival on February 28th, and it was scheduled to run through April 21st, 2020. The following week, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure closed for COVID-19, and the festival was cut short just two weeks into its run.

One of my favorite “new to me” aspects of the trip was the Jammin’ Chefs show. I don’t know how we missed it last year during the festival. I mostly recorded it over several shows but I have a handful of photos with the video below too. Chip and Dale are featured along with performers dressed as chefs, some beating on pots and pans for music. It is a ton of fun and I hope to see it again next year. I also liked that I could arrive 10 minutes before the show started and have my choice of spots. The show would play 5 or 6 times per day and ran only about 10-12 minutes, and didn’t tend to get too busy until the performers (including Chip and Dale) appeared.

 Goofy also hosted an event, Jr. Chef for kids. He passed by while I was waiting for a Jammin’ Chefs show.

I am glad I was able to visit the Disneyland Resort before the closure, I hope the parks are able to open soon again (when safe). And hopefully we can book a trip during the Food & Wine Festival at Disney California Adventure again next year. There is a lot that I’d have liked to have seen that I just didn’t have time for.
