Disney Park and Resort Photo Updates

Star Tours Now Offers Destinations Inspired by “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker”

Hi everyone!

Yesterday, Disney introduced new Star Tours destinations inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker at Disney parks in various locations. We were invited by Disney to ride at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the early morning before the park opened. Tom Fitzgerald, senior creative director at Walt Disney Imagineering says on the Disney Parks Blog that, “the adventure on the surface of the ocean moon Kef Bir is one of the wildest we’ve ever created with our partners at Industrial Light & Magic!”

He also mentions that “the updated adventures include an urgent transmission from none other than Lando Calrissian to join in the battle to end all battles!” For the next few months, the destinations inspired by Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker will be exclusively shown. After that, Star Tours – The Adventures Continue will be offering more than 100 storytelling combinations. Star Tours at Walt Disney World first opened on December 15, 1989 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, so it just turned 30 here this month.

Here is the new poster!

I woke up yesterday to first-hand accounts of riding from friends at Disneyland Paris. We soon had our turn, arriving at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to ride before the sun rose.

New signage is outside the attraction. The experience is as fun as any Star Tours destination is – I would personally watch the movie first but it isn’t necessary. It might be considered as having minor spoilers.

I don’t often get an empty queue photo.

And Cast Members held up lightsabers for us to walk through.

We walked outside to an Atlas V rocket launching.

We were given a quick tour of merchandise being sold at Disney parks for the movie Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

Here is our video interview about the merchandise:

There is more to see at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as well, including a new display in Star Wars Launch Bay showcasing some real props (and some that are created just for the display) for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. I will post about that tomorrow!
