Gran Destino Tower Celebrates the Holidays with Elegant Christmas Decor at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort (Photos, Video)
Hi everyone!
Stepping into the Gran Destino Tower, it is always hard to believe it is part of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort – a moderate resort at Walt Disney World. The Gran Destino Tower opened in July, with this being the first year for Christmas decorations. And while not overly ornate, the lobby does look even more beautiful with the large Christmas tree and lighting! The decorations do start outside the resort, with decorative bells greeting guests as they arrive. And this article includes some decorations over at the original lobby as well, though there is less than previous years due to it not being the entrance to the resort anymore. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort has been my favorite moderate resort for Christmas decorations through the years.

I think these holiday bells are a beautiful addition to the front of the Gran Destino Tower.
There is also a wreath above the door, and other decorative touches.
Walking inside, one of the first things you will notice is the lighting. I mentioned that I don’t find the decorations ornate, but the lighting is particularly striking as is the large Christmas tree.
The main Christmas tree spans the two stories of the tower.
Looking down on the Barcelona Lounge as well as the tree.
The tower is elegant in itself, so it doesn’t take too much to amplify that for the holiday season.
Walt and Mickey beyond the Christmas tree.
There is quite a bit of red and green lighting here – there is always lighting, but these are special for the season.
Green lighting and a smaller Christmas tree.
Looking toward the lobby.
I took photos into this mirror.
The tree looks beautiful from outside once night falls.
Heading over to the former check-in area, there are large garlands.
Panchito’s is decorated.
Panchito is at the center with Christmas trees near him. Garland lines the store.
The former check-in and concierge area still has garland and wreaths – and the Mickey in lights.
This used to be hard to see during the holiday season because a large Christmas tree would partly block it.
The former check-in desks still have decorations.
And some of my personal favorite holiday touches are the small Christmas trees that have lined this hallway for years.
What do you think of the new decorations at the Gran Destino Tower? We will be continue posting much more from Christmas around the resorts!
