Disney Issues Statement on Disney Skyliner Incident

Disney issued a statement on the Disney Skyliner incident that occurred on October 5th, 2019.

“We have a team diligently looking into the cause of the malfunction on the Epcot line of the Disney Skyliner.  We have been in contact with the guests, many of whom were on the Skyliner for more than three hours until we were able to restart the system. We express our sincere apologies for the inconvenience and continue to work with each guest individually.”

I appreciate that Disney has stepped up the words used from “downtime” to “malfunction” and also hope that the cause will be figured out quickly and the Disney Skyliner will be in operation again when it is felt completely safe to do so and communication protocols are in place. The first thing I wanted to do when we got back from Disneyland Paris last week was to ride the Disney Skyliner, and quite frankly, I find it a unique, useful and enjoyable form of Disney transportation. I look forward to riding it again in the near future.
