Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance to Open December 5th, 2019 at Walt Disney World and January 17th, 2020 at Disneyland

Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opened over a month ago at Disneyland and will be opening on August 29th, 2019 at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World. What is not open yet is Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, which is the second of two signature attractions for the lands. We now have a date for the ride on each coast. Even though Disneyland opened Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge first, it is Walt Disney World that will receive Rise of the Resistance this year – December 5th, 2019 is the scheduled opening. And for Disneyland, the opening date is January 17th, 2020.

Disney says of the attraction, When it opens, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.
