LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (July 2018) – An all-new Rhythms of Raglan 2018 suite of stage shows comprising nearly four hours of original content, music, dance, choreography and banter debuts this summer at Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant in Disney Springs. Just arrived in Orlando from Irish turf, multiple new bands and dancers are wowing pub guests with the musical story of Ireland from its ancient roots to modern times performed against a colorful backdrop of original video production.
The pub’s multi-award-winning companies of musicians and dancers provide first-class entertainment choreographed to take you on an authentic cultural journey that’s both “lyrical and rollicking,” according to Raglan Road show director David Hayes.
“That journey will take us from Ireland’s Ancient East, across the Atlantic to Newfoundland and down the coast to the mountains and seashores,” said Hayes, former Riverdance music and production director and musical director for all five series of RTE’s “The Voice.” “The shows will feature a progression of material from these early interactions of peoples, sweeping us quickly through to the most contemporary of Irish traditional musical content and ideas, all topped off with dance routines that punch and float in equal measure.”
It’s been two years since Raglan Road launched the Rhythms of Raglan and One Heck of a Hooley productions featuring the very best Irish talent. Against the pub stage’s stunning video backdrop, guests enjoy lively entertainment with crisp acoustics every day of the week. The new shows are performed each evening on the pub’s Grand Room stage.
Additional music and dance performances take place in the pub’s two other dining rooms and on the Raglan Road patio, and also from noon to 3 p.m. during the weekend Rollicking Raglan Brunch. There is no cover charge to enjoy Raglan Road entertainment.
The Rhythms of Raglan 2018 musical journey takes guests from Ireland’s Ancient East into the early 20th century with cultural stops at rocky tombs, cottages, castles and scenic overlooks and across the sea to Newfoundland in the 18th and 19th centuries. Later musical stops across Ireland in the 1920s, ‘40s and ‘60s to today are illustrated in vivid murals and montages projected as a vivid backdrop for the show’s cast. Marvel at these Raglan Road fun facts about this year’s exciting new production:
