Epcot Guardians of the Galaxy Roller Coaster Construction Photos – July 26, 2018
Hi everyone!
We were at Epcot yesterday and I took some photos of the construction on the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster, including from the monorail while passing by the former Universe of Energy pavilion. The roller coaster is scheduled to open in time for the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary in 2021 (it is hard to believe it will celebrate 50, I have been going regularly since year 6!) The Guardians of the Galaxy roller coaster is supposed to be one of the longest indoor roller coasters in the world when it opens. At the same time, it is being touted as a family attraction – it will be interesting to see what that means in regards to this coaster. Slinky Dog Dash is a family coaster but definitely has a lot of zip to it.
The rain had just stopped so I took my first photo from the parking lot. The building is large and can be seen from so many places in Epcot.
After the next bout of rain, I was able to get a few shots from across World Showcase.
Here is one with Spaceship Earth to the left.
We went to the Magic Kingdom for a couple of hours and then headed back by monorail. This is always a great way to see Epcot.
Guardians of the Galaxy coaster construction is ahead and then as we ride into the park.
This is a look from above at the work being done on the former Universe of Energy pavilion.
The sign is still up.
And heading past the Leave a Legacy stones with the construction in the background.
