Christmas Arrives to the Magic Kingdom 2017 & Houston Astros World Series Parade (Photos, Video)

Hi everyone!

Christmas arrived to the Magic Kingdom very early this year. Just hours after the last Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party ended, Christmas decorations started taking over Main Street. From there it took a couple of days to put the Christmas tree in place, but it was there as of November 4th (yesterday) – along with toy soldiers and almost everything else. Due to the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade taping, it looks like “A Frozen Holiday Wish” may not debut before November 9th on the first night of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (traditionally it starts earlier).

This will be our 11th year covering the holidays around Walt Disney World, including Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! I will be posting a new article with tips this weekend and another article with 100 or so photos not long after.

Here are photos from yesterday, and they also include a few Houston Astros World Series Victory Parade pictures along with the Christmas photos.

The sky was so blue yesterday, perfect for photos. I don’t remember the decorations ever being added to the Magic Kingdom quite so quickly, but I am ready for the holiday season!

Garland isn’t over Main Street as of a few years back due to Disney’s Festival of Fantasy Parade, but the decorations they did add then look nice.

The top of the Main Street Railroad Station always makes for nice photos.

There are always two trees up here as well.

Decorations are on light poles.

Toy Soldiers are back in Town Square and at Candy Cane Lane.

Garland swags decorate City Hall.

Mickey and Minnie are together with Donald, Goofy and Pluto this year in the Emporium. This is where most of the Christmas merchandise is as well.

Here is our video of the Emporium merchandise.

These decorations always remind me of dog ears.

Red, white and blue Mickey balloons were being added to poles for the Houston Astros World Series Victory Parade.

Last week, a facade with the former House of Magic was added here. It isn’t a magic shop now, but it’d be nice to see it back!

The Houston Astros World Series Victory Parade was about to start. Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa and George Springer were in the parade, along with Mickey, Donald and Goofy.

It was a quick parade, with a banner and one float.

Here are a few photos and video of the parade.

Cinderella Castle was being set up for the Christmas taping.

Poinsettia trees decorate both inside and outside the Magic Kingdom.

Next up was the Jingle Cruise, which opened on November 2nd. Disneyland won’t have a Jingle Cruise this year, but we have ours at least this year again.

Here is our video of the Jingle Cruise this year, and then some photos.

There are holiday decorations throughout the queue. We went through the Fastpass line and missed some of them.

Each of the boats has a Christmas name.

Even though the quick Fastpass line, there were some holiday decorations and banners to see.

I don’t remember this one from last year, Ethanoel Eggnog.

Jungle All the Way.

In comparison with the Disneyland attraction that was really popular, ours still isn’t very heavily decorated – but more than the first year it was here and I heard some new jokes.

Gorillas are celebrating the holiday.

The rhino is back.

There are other decorations throughout.

In Tomorrowland, the stage is set up for A Totally Tomorowland Christmas at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

The Christmas tree and items underneath are the same as the last few years.

There is also a train, drum, and a few other items. Photopass was busy there so I didn’t get as close as usual.

Candy Cane Garden is always worth a quick visit.

If for nothing else, it’s good for a reminder on how many days until Christmas. It also makes me feel better right now that most of my Christmas shopping isn’t done yet!

A Mickey Mouse shaped wreath is under the garland.

We will have so much more for the holiday season at Walt Disney World, keep watching Mousesteps for Christmas around the parks and resorts!
