Gaylord Palms ICE! Featuring Christmas Around the World Starts to Take Shape; More Activities Announced for 2017
Hi everyone!
Gaylord Palms Resort in Kissimmee is gearing up for ICE! featuring Christmas Around the World, along with a plethora of different activities that will take place at the resort. This is one of my favorite events for the season, I have attended most years since the 2nd year (it is now year 15!). We have been covering the event since 2010 as well – it has changed SO much over the years. ICE! used to be just the walk-through and some musical acts in the atrium, and now it can be a full day experience. I am posting the press release below with all of the activities, more than ever before. Alongside are some of my photos from the preview yesterday and some provided by Gaylord Palms. We were there to see the artisans as they exited the bus for photos, but they had actually been there already for a few days and ice carvings were already forming! 2 million pounds of ice need to be carved by November 21st, 2017. Take a look at our ICE! article from last year here.

Artisans from Harbin, China, home of the world’s largest ice and snow sculpture festival, travel more than 6,000 miles to hand-carve more than two million pounds of colorful ice into larger-than-life sculptures. When guests enter the nine-degree attraction this year, they will discover holiday scenes from various nations and two-story ice slides surrounded by sculptures and international tidings, all before ending with a trip to the North Pole to experience Santa’s toy workshop. The ICE! experience ends with the Frostbite Factory live ice carving showcase and the traditional Nativity created with crystal clear ice.
