Disneyland Celebrates it’s 62nd Birthday with 62 Characters and “The Happiest March on Earth” (Photos and Video)
Hi everyone!
Disneyland celebrated 62 years today. I can’t believe it has already been two years since the 60th! There was a large crowd early at Town Square for the event today, so we started at Sleeping Beauty Castle and did the march down Main Street with the band, Fab Five and Chip & Dale. 62 total characters soon joined the Dapper Dans and other Cast Members. Here is a look at the event with photos and a full video!
Most of the crowds were on Main Street and Town Square. But the event kicked off at Sleeping Beauty Castle, and there was a small gathering to see it as the Disneyland Band began the proceeding.
Soon, Donald, Pluto, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Chip and Dale ran through Sleeping Beauty Castle.

The characters were flanked by the Disneyland Band.
Donald made a great leader of the group.
Minnie and Mickey give each other a kiss.

The Disneyland Band brought up a young girl to teach her how to march.
The band, characters and Cast Members begain the march down Main Street in what the band called “The Happiest March on Earth”.
The Disneyland Band marched by.
Main Street was reflected here, as guests lined the street to see the procession.
Chip and Dale came by.
Donald was up next.
Goofy and Pluto were the last characters for the march.
A variety of Cast Members from different roles in Disneyland held balloons.
Now we are marching to Town Square.
Many of you probably recognize Steve from the back, he drives the fire engine and has worked at Disneyland for over 40 years. I feel like I am on the fire engine just from this picture!
The march continued around Town Square.
The Dapper Dans met the Disneyland Band and characters at Town Square.
There were still almost 60 more characters to come.
Aladdin, Jasmine, Genie, and Gideon were just a few of the characters making their way out.
Genie waved to the crowd, with more characters including Pinocchio and Gepetto behind.
Jiminy Cricket, Mr. Smee, Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Wendy and more are next.
Mulan and Mushu joined Mary Poppins, Bert and a penguin.
Clopin arrived with Esmeralda.
Even more rare characters arrive.
Friar Tuck, Robin Hood, Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham.
The characters pour in. It isn’t the 150 or so we saw at Disneyland Paris, but a very impressive amount for Town Square.
The Seven Dwarfs including Dopey were part of the event.
Daisy joined the Seven Dwarfs.
Clarabelle Cow and Horace Horsecollar were next.
Marie stood next to Princess Tiana.
Lilo and Stitch were on the lower right hand side. Everyone sung “Happy Birthday” to Disneyland.
The song “Welcome” from Brother Bear was sung.
The Mad Hatter stood next to Alice and Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum.
Mickey, Donald, Goofy and the Dapper Dans sing.
Chip heads this way.
Confetti was shot off.
The event was over and the characters started to head off.
Clopin walked by.
Esmeralda.
The Mad Hatter, Alice, White Rabbit, Mulan, Mush and more characters kept walking by as they headed out.
This was a quick but fun event, and starting at Sleeping Beauty Castle was great because we got to see the whole process. Happy 62nd, Disneyland!
