Gatorland Introduces “Savannah Swamp Girl” As New Animal Education Ambassador

ORLANDO, Florida (Oct. 11, 2016)  –  Gatorland®, the “Alligator Capital of the World,” has a new wild feature and it’s not an animal.  Radio Personality Savannah Boan, widely known as “Savannah Swamp Girl” on 104.1 FM’s Monsters of the Morning program and iHeartRadio, is the park’s newest addition.  As Animal Education Ambassador, she will be a liaison between the animals and the public, working primarily on Gatorland’s worldwide social media presence.

Over ten years in radio, four years in the Marine Corp and a special passion for alligators and crocodiles, Savannah is an advocate for Florida wildlife and conservation with a large following of listeners, fans and friends the world over.  She has a pet crocodile monitor named Butters, is a contributing writer for the U.K.’s Digitilian online reptile magazine, and has worked with crocodiles and reptiles from Cuba to Australia.  Savannah also worked at The Reptile Zoo in Orange County, Calif. and while there, appeared on The Tonight Show and Good Day L.A. with a world-record 24-foot reticulated python and other gigantic reptiles.

“We are very excited to have Savannah join our Gatorland family.  She has a deep passion and incredible enthusiasm for alligators, crocodiles, reptiles and all our animals,” said Mark McHugh, president and CEO of Gatorland.  “She’s all about Florida wildlife, and so are we.”
