Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter Being Refurbished; Food Court Moved to Former Bonfamille’s Cafe’ (Photos)
Hi everyone!
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory closed about a week ago for refurbishment at the Port Orleans French Quarter, one of the moderate resorts at Walt Disney World. The temporary food court location is in the former Bonfamille’s Cafe’. Bonfamille’s closed over 15 years ago and has been used as a test kitchen and was open this past year for holiday meals. This location is much smaller than the food court, I definitely recommend visiting during off-hours. According to Andre at PortOrleans.org, Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory should reopen before Thanksgiving. Here is a look around the location, including menus. Guests can also head over to the Riverside Mill at Port Orleans Riverside, either by bus or via the path that connects the two resorts (about a 10 minute walk).

Just inside the door, there are registers set up. A grab-and-go case of refrigerated items, as well as baked goods and fruit are all available.
The refrigerated case includes drinks and fruit.
The grab & go menu includes salads, bagels and muffins.
Two Coca-Cola Freestyle machines are available.
Joffrey’s Coffee is dispensed from two coffee machines.
Beverages and single-serve fruit options are available at the entrance to the restaurant.
Two microwaves, ice water and a toaster are on this counter.
Cookies, cupcakes and muffins are in the case.
The breakfast rush was just ending, and I was able to take a few photos around the dining room.
Outside of the far windows, a fountain. I never actually did eat at Bonfamille’s, I spent more time at Port Orleans Riverside back then (Dixie Landings) and figured I’d have time to visit at some point.
Here are a few photos of the dining room.
The sign for Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory is currently not on the wall.
The doors to Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory outside are blocked.
Guests are sent inside to the current location.
Port Orleans French Quarter is my favorite moderate resort, it will be interesting to see what may change with the refurbishment of the food court.
