LEGOLAND Florida Announces LEGOLAND Beach Retreat, NINJAGO World, Summer 2016 Night Lights with Fireworks & More
Hi everyone!
One thing that LEGOLAND Florida has never done since it opened in 2011 is to rest on its laurels, continuing to expand in multiple ways – and Tuesday, the resort made not one, but five big announcements. LEGOLAND Hotel opened last year, and the new LEGOLAND Beach Resort is now set for mid-2017 – making for two themed accomodations. The LEGOLAND Florida water park opened in 2012, and the newest addition is Creative Cove with Build-A-Boat, which just opened last week. LEGO NINJAGO World is set for next year; LEGO Nexo Knights 4D for this year; and this summer, the park will host LEGOLAND Night Lights, including weekend fireworks. Keep reading for more information!

LEGOLAND says of the LEGOLAND Beach Resort, “This whimsically themed vacation resort combines the fun of surf, sand and sun with the creativity of LEGO® bricks on a picturesque site next to Lake Dexter, adjacent to the theme park.” There will be a LEGO lighthouse, and 83 duplex units with 166 separate accomodations that will sleep up to 5.

LEGO NINJAGO World is inspired by the LEGO building sets and the TV show “LEGO Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu”. LEGO NINJAGO The Ride will offer guests the opportunity to use their hands – instead of a button or other device – to to “blast animated fireballs, lightning, shockwaves and ice”.

New to LEGOLAND Florida last week, Creative Cove at the LEGOLAND Water Park features “Build-a-Boat”, which is a lot of fun for kids and adults. We tried it out, adding LEGO bricks to the base of the watercraft, and then racing the boats. There is also an Imagination Station nearby, for younger children.

The fourth announcement for LEGOLAND Florida will be LEGO NEXO KNIGHTS: 4D: The Book of Creativity. It is scheduled to open May 26th, 2016. LEGOLAND explains this attraction this way: “Set in the futuristic Kingdom of Knighton, this all-new theatrical attraction pits five young knights against the evil Jestro and his sidekick, the Book of Monsters, in a battle for control of a rare book of magic that gives its owner tremendous power”. The attraction will be 12 1/2 minutes and combines 3D animation and 4D effects.

The last announcement was also for this year, LEGOLAND Night Lights will be held Saturdays and Sundays from June 18th – July 31st, and will include extended park hours, meet and greets, build opportunities and the new NINJAGO fireworks display. That should be a lot of fun!
