Disney Springs Photo Update – January 22nd, 2016 – Including Town Center & Planet Hollywood Construction
Hi everyone!
Disney Springs looks different during each visit, even since my last stop less than 2 weeks ago. This is the first time we’ve seen water added around the Town Center area. There is still much to open this year, including Sprinkles Cupcakes and Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza.
Here is a look around Disney Springs yesterday!
Characters in Flight had been down quite a bit lately due to wind and storms.
The Edison still is mostly a shell, at least from this view. There is also rumored to be a Walt’s and Neverland Tunnels in this area. I don’t know if Walt’s would be like Disneyland Paris, which is my favorite restaurant at that park.
The Edison.
STK is continuing to receive exterior work.
Planet Hollywood closed a couple of weeks ago for about 6 months, as it becomes The Planet Hollywood Observatory. We will see it closer up a few photos down.
The World of Coca-Cola has been rumored for several years, Disney is now calling it a “Coca Cola Store”.
Coca-Cola is noted on the building.
Nearby, the bus stop area at Disney Springs is continuing progress.
Here is a closer look.
The next parking garage is behind this area.

Here is a view from the Orange Parking Garage toward what used to be Pleasure Island.

Work began immediately after it closed.

This is the main piece of concept art I’ve seen for the Planet Hollywood Observatory, though another one showing the logo is here.
Here is another look at STK.

This view of The Edison hasn’t changed from this direction.
Town Center is behind walls, but you can see it is really coming along quickly. These photos are taken from the Raglan Road/Morimoto Asia area, and I don’t have much to say about them yet. I’m not much of a shopper, but still am looking forward to visiting the finished area – it looks really nice so far.
Here are a few more photos with the water in view. Back in 2013, Disney said of Town Center that it “is oriented around a series of bubbling natural springs that first attracted settlers to the area”.
Concept art on the wall.
This is the view from the Marketplace past the wall. If you’ve been to Disney Springs recently, you’ll see how much has opened already – but there is so much more coming.
A wider view.
This is a look from the Marketplace bridge.
It still feels a little like Christmas.
But also St. Patrick’s Day.
And Christmas.
The Marketplace CO-OP will have WonderGround artists coming.
Disney Springs bottles are for sale at World of Disney.
Here is another look at construction from near World of Disney.
Joffrey’s is now handling smoothies at Disney Springs.

The listing of what is new keeps changing.
I needed to get a very quick dinner, so this is my second-ever corn dog – purchased from the food truck park area.

We look forward to the completion of Disney Springs!
